Thredd and Pliant Expand Partnership to Launch US Commercial Credit via Coastal

Thredd and Pliant on Aug 4, 2026 announced an expanded partnership bringing Pliant's commercial credit and embedded finance platform to the U.S. market for the first time. Coastal provides bank sponsorship, and the program runs on the Visa network. American businesses can now issue commercial credit cards with real-time visibility into spend and cash-flow management.

The launch follows a soft rollout in late 2025 that allowed Pliant to begin onboarding U.S. customers. Pliant's platform combines credit issuance with lending decisioning and reconciliation tooling, packaging expense management, credit, and reporting into one solution. Thredd handles issuer processing, while Pliant delivers the front-end experience.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Pliant, headquartered in Berlin, is expanding its executive presence in the U.S. to support North American growth.
