BSP and PPMI Launch Three New Digital Payment Services in Philippines

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Philippine Payments Management, Inc. (PPMI) launched three digital payment services on Jul 29, 2026, at a ceremony at BSP headquarters in Manila. Direct Debit PH lets customers authorize billers to collect payments automatically from bank or e-wallet accounts on scheduled due dates. InstaPay Cash-In introduces a request-for-funds feature, allowing one user to send a cash-in request that another user fulfills from a participating bank or e-wallet.

InstaPay for Business raises the per-transaction transfer ceiling for registered businesses from PHP 50,000 to PHP 500,000. The higher limit targets supplier payments, payroll disbursements, and other commercial flows on the country's real-time retail payment system. All three services fall under the BSP's National Retail Payment System Framework, which aims to build an interoperable retail payment ecosystem across banks and non-bank e-money issuers.
