SBI Holdings and Cross River Sign MOU for Japan Joint Venture
SBI Holdings and CRB Group, the parent company of Cross River Bank, signed a memorandum of understanding on Oct 28, 2026, to pursue a strategic alliance and a joint venture in Japan. The proposed venture would combine each company's technology, customer base, and networks to serve customers in Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Planned business areas include tokenized products backed by real-world assets, cross-border payment services, and payment infrastructure for AI-agent-initiated transactions.
SBI Holdings will also make a strategic investment in CRB Group. The two companies plan to integrate the yen-denominated stablecoin JPYSC onto Cross River's platform for institutional and cross-border settlement. All initiatives remain subject to definitive agreements and regulatory approvals in Japan and the United States.
