Bottomline Embeds Paymode Payments Network into Digital Banking Platforms

Bottomline announced the embedding of its Paymode business payments network directly into commercial digital banking platforms on May 1, 2025. Paymode, which processes approximately $450 billion in payments annually, now enables banks to offer their commercial clients in-app supplier self-enrollment, automated rebate programs, and enhanced fraud reduction capabilities without leaving the banking interface. The integration serves a network of over 440,000 businesses, giving banks a new revenue channel through embedded payments functionality.

By bringing Paymode into the digital banking experience, Bottomline aims to reduce friction in B2B payments and increase supplier adoption. The move positions Bottomline as a key embedded finance enabler for commercial banking, allowing financial institutions to deepen relationships with business clients. This launch reflects growing demand from banks to embed third-party fintech capabilities directly into their digital platforms to compete with standalone payment providers.
