UBS Financial Services
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Aug 03, 2026, ordered UBS Financial Services to pay $8 million, settling charges tied to anti-money-laundering supervision failures. The CFTC found UBS failed to diligently supervise the configuration and operation of its AML transaction-monitoring systems for wire transfers denominated in foreign currencies. The action was part of a coordinated enforcement effort alongside FinCEN and FINRA, which imposed separate penalties on the same day.
FinCEN assessed a $125 million civil money penalty, the largest ever imposed against a broker-dealer for Bank Secrecy Act violations. FINRA fined UBS $20 million for related AML compliance failures. Combined penalties across the three agencies totaled $153 million.
