Paytm Payments Bank Limited
New Delhi, India
The Delhi High Court ordered the winding up of Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) under the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and the Companies Act, 2013. The court's directive came through orders dated Jul 08, 2026 and Jul 22, 2026. The RBI had cancelled PPBL's banking licence in April 2026, citing persistent non-compliance with regulatory norms.
The central bank said at the time that the bank's affairs were being conducted in a manner detrimental to the interests of its depositors. The RBI then moved the Delhi High Court for the winding up. Girikumar M.
Nair was appointed as Official Liquidator to lead the liquidation process.
