Visa and Revolut Agree to Expand Digital Banking to Five New Regions

In October 2019, Visa announced a new agreement with Revolut, the UK-based digital banking fintech, to expand its services into five new regions globally. The partnership leverages Visa's network infrastructure and card issuance capabilities to support Revolut's rapid international growth. Visa has been aggressively courting fintechs through its Fintech Fast Track program, which simplifies onboarding and integration for digital-first financial services companies.

Revolut, already one of Europe's fastest-growing neobanks, uses the partnership to scale internationally with Visa's acceptance network. The announcement was part of broader Visa fintech activity in the period, which also included supporting N26's expansion into the U.S. via Fast Track. Financial terms of the Revolut agreement were not disclosed.

The deal illustrates how card networks function as critical enablers in the BaaS ecosystem, providing the rails on which fintechs build consumer-facing products.
