Visa to Acquire BioCatch for $2.4B in Cash

Visa announced on Aug 3, 2026, that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire BioCatch for $2.4 billion in cash. The sellers are funds advised by Permira and other shareholders. BioCatch specializes in behavioral-first, multi-signal fraud intelligence, analyzing application, behavioral, device, and network signals to detect fraud in real time.

The company protects 1.8 billion devices and 760 million users, serving more than 350 banking clients across 21 countries. Visa said the acquisition complements its existing cyber, fraud, risk, and security solutions. The company has invested more than $13 billion in technology and infrastructure over the past five years to safeguard the payments ecosystem.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
