Thredd and Currensea Extend Card Processing Partnership for Four Years
Thredd and Currensea announced a four-year extension of their card processing partnership on May 6, 2026. The relationship dates to 2019, when Thredd began providing issuer processing and core programme infrastructure for Currensea's debit card products. Services under the renewed agreement include physical and virtual card issuance, tokenisation, digital wallet provisioning, and transaction processing.
Currensea offers a multi-bank travel card linked to customers' existing bank accounts and has expanded into co-branded reward cards with Hilton Hotels, Marriott Bonvoy, and United Airlines. The fintech serves over 200,000 customers and holds a 4.9 Trustpilot rating across more than 20,000 reviews. It was recently named the UK's second fastest-growing fintech in the Financial Times' FT1000 ranking.
