Revolut Secures Full Australian Banking Licence from APRA

APRA granted Revolut a full, unrestricted Authorised Deposit-taking Institution licence, and the company launched as Revolut Bank Australia on Jul 22, 2026. Revolut is the first global fintech to secure a full ADI licence in Australia. The licence also marks Revolut's first banking entity in the APAC region, adding to its licensed operations in the UK, EEA, and Mexico.

Revolut has committed to investing nearly AUD 400 million into Australia over five years, covering product development, growth, and hiring. The company's existing base of more than one million Australian retail customers and thousands of businesses will transition automatically into the licensed bank. New customers signing up from launch day will be onboarded directly to Revolut Bank Australia.

The banking licence enables Revolut to expand into deposits, savings, and credit products alongside its existing services.
