Pliant Launches U.S. Operations with Coastal Community Bank as Sponsor Bank
Pliant announced on Jul 14, 2026 that it is entering the U.S. market through a partnership with Coastal Financial Corporation. Coastal Community Bank, the corporation's subsidiary, will act as Pliant's sponsor bank for card issuing and commercial payments. The arrangement enables Pliant to offer card issuing services and support agent-based issuing structures within the U.S. banking system.
Pliant was founded in 2020 in Berlin and operates B2B card programs across Europe through an API-first platform. Coastal Financial Corporation trades on Nasdaq under the ticker CCB and operates its CCBX segment, which provides Banking-as-a-Service to fintechs and digital financial service providers. The Everett, Washington-based bank holding company holds $4.74 billion in assets.
This partnership is Pliant's first operational presence in the United States.
