Penta Raises €30M Series B+ Led by ABN AMRO Ventures

Penta, a Berlin-based digital business banking platform serving SMEs and startups, raised €30M in a Series B+ funding round. The round was led by ABN AMRO Ventures, the strategic venture arm of Dutch banking group ABN AMRO, with continued participation from existing investors including finleap and HV Capital. Penta offers a suite of digital banking services for small and medium-sized businesses, including business accounts, expense management, and integrated financial tools.

The involvement of ABN AMRO Ventures as lead investor represents a notable bank-fintech partnership, with one of Europe's major banks strategically backing a digital banking challenger. Penta operates as part of the finleap ecosystem, a Berlin-based fintech company builder. The funding was expected to support product expansion and growth across European markets.

The deal illustrates the growing trend of traditional banks investing in fintech platforms that offer modern banking experiences to underserved segments like SMEs.
