FIS Launches 2022 Fintech Accelerator Focused on BaaS and Embedded Finance

FIS launched its 2022 Fintech Accelerator program on March 3, 2022, targeting fintech startups and growth-stage companies working on embedded finance and Banking-as-a-Service solutions. The 16-week program, scheduled to begin June 29 in Little Rock, Arkansas, selects ten companies to develop innovations across categories including BaaS and embedded finance. Participants receive monetary investments and gain access to FIS's extensive network of financial institutions, investors, and industry participants.

The program culminates in a Demo Day on October 26, where startups pitch to over 100 attendees. FIS prioritized startups that already have customers and recurring revenue, with additional emphasis on companies owned by women or underrepresented minorities. The accelerator represents a significant bank-technology partnership initiative explicitly naming embedded finance as a strategic priority for the financial services industry.
