efood Partners with finmid to Launch Embedded Lending for Greek Restaurants

efood, the Greek food delivery platform owned by Delivery Hero, has launched efood Capital in partnership with embedded lending provider finmid. The program targets efood's network of 21,000 restaurant partners, offering financing of up to €30,000 with disbursement within 48 hours. Underwriting relies on platform transaction data rather than conventional credit checks, lowering barriers to access for small merchants.

Funds can be used for equipment purchases, working capital, and other business needs. The partnership exemplifies a broader trend among delivery platforms—including Wolt, Glovo, Just Eat Takeaway, and Deliveroo—that are embedding lending through infrastructure partners like finmid, Banxware, and Liberis. By leveraging transaction data for credit decisioning, these platforms aim to deepen merchant relationships and improve retention.

Financial terms of the partnership between efood and finmid were not disclosed.
