Deutsche Bank Launches White-Label BNPL Solution with Credi2

Deutsche Bank announced a white-label BNPL solution in July 2022, developed in partnership with Vienna-based fintech Credi2. The product enables online merchants and digital marketplaces in Germany to integrate invoice and installment payment options directly into their checkout flows under their own branding. Deutsche Bank provides the licensed banking infrastructure and regulatory compliance, while Credi2 contributes its technology platform for flexible BNPL integration.

Kilian Thalhammer, Deutsche Bank's Head of Merchant Solutions, emphasized that unlike typical BNPL offerings, this product gives merchants full control over the transaction relationship with their customers. Credi2 co-CEO Christian Waldheim highlighted the solution's flexibility for banks, merchants, and marketplaces to boost customer loyalty and increase sales. Pilot projects were planned for 2022, with broader rollout expected to follow.

The move signals Deutsche Bank's entry into the embedded BNPL space as a banking-as-a-service provider for merchant financing.
