Corpay Launches Agent Card for AI-Driven Payments

Corpay launched Agent Card on Jul 31, 2026, enabling AI agents to generate controlled virtual cards for business transactions. The capability applies virtual card controls, including authorisation, spend limits, and visibility, to payments initiated by AI systems rather than human users. Agent Card supports both human-directed agent experiences and fully automated machine-to-machine workflows.

It incorporates authentication and spend intent authorisation built on open standards designed for interoperability with multiple AI agent platforms. Use cases include supplier payments, digital advertising purchases, travel bookings, and procurement workflows. The launch follows Corpay's April 2026 introduction of an AI Virtual Assistant inside its Corpay Complete platform.

Corpay has framed Agent Card as part of a broader effort to help businesses adopt AI-driven commercial processes while retaining the governance controls associated with traditional virtual card issuance.
