Branch Partners with Lead Bank to Expand Workforce Payments Platform
Branch announced a strategic partnership with Lead Bank to serve as an additional sponsor bank and card issuing partner for its suite of workforce payments solutions. Lead Bank, a Member FDIC state-chartered bank with decades of experience serving fintech companies, operates a banking-as-a-service platform designed for direct integration into transaction workflows. The partnership covers Branch's full product lineup, including the Branch App and Card (digital banking accounts and debit cards) and Branch's White Label products (custom branded payment solutions for businesses).
Branch CEO Atif Siddiqi stated the collaboration combines regulatory expertise with modern technology to help scale offerings for more workplaces. The deal supports Branch's expansion into key industries including hospitality, gig platforms and marketplaces, staffing services, construction, logistics, and agriculture. Branch's platform provides fast, flexible payment options for both W-2 and 1099 workforces, encompassing cashless tips, mileage reimbursement, earned wage access products, and contractor payouts.
The addition of Lead Bank as a strategic banking partner strengthens Branch's banking infrastructure and diversifies its sponsor bank relationships.
- Demonstrates continued demand for sponsor bank relationships in workforce payments and earned wage access, a growing BaaS vertical
- Lead Bank's BaaS platform gains another high-profile fintech client, reinforcing its position as a key sponsor bank for embedded finance
