Zeta and Mastercard Partner to Power Next-Gen Credit Processing for Banks and Fintechs

On March 7, 2022, banking technology unicorn Zeta and Mastercard announced a 5-year global partnership to deliver next-generation credit processing for banks and fintechs. The agreement includes a capital investment by Mastercard in Zeta and joint go-to-market efforts centered on Zeta's cloud-native, API-ready Tachyon Credit platform. The platform covers the full credit lifecycle including issuance, payments, BNPL loans, managed services, and collections, enabling fintechs and co-brands to issue cards rapidly.

Mastercard contributes its digital issuance, KYC, and verification tools, including programs like Fintech Express, to the combined offering. The partnership builds on prior collaboration since 2018 through Mastercard's Start Path and Engage programs. At the time of announcement, Zeta powered over 10 million cards for 8 issuers and 30 fintechs globally.

The deal is expected to accelerate BaaS adoption by simplifying how issuers create customizable credit card programs at scale.
