Vodafone Egypt and Banque Misr Partner to Expand Digital Payments

Vodafone Egypt and Banque Misr signed a partnership on Jul 08, 2026 to deploy Vodafone Cash e-wallet services through the state-owned lender. The deal combines Vodafone Egypt's technology infrastructure and digital customer base with Banque Misr's banking capabilities. Both parties said the collaboration is designed to simplify daily financial transactions by offering more flexible digital payment services.

Mohamed Abdallah, CEO of Vodafone Egypt, said the partnership would help strengthen customer confidence and support financial inclusion. Hisham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, described the agreement as part of the bank's strategy to expand digital banking and promote innovation in financial products. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Egypt's financial inclusion rate among adults reached 77.6 percent by end of 2025, up from 76.3 percent in June 2025.
