Visa Launches Stablecoin Platform for Banks and Fintechs

Visa announced the Visa Stablecoin Platform (VSP) on Jul 16, 2026, giving financial institutions, fintechs, and payment providers a single environment to run stablecoin operations. The platform initially supports Open USD (OUSD), a stablecoin introduced by Open Standard. VSP lets clients mint, burn, manage, and transfer Open USD through Visa's managed infrastructure.

The platform includes a Wallet-as-a-Service offering that packages onchain wallet infrastructure for treasury, settlement, and product use cases. VSP is designed to connect stablecoin capabilities into Visa's existing network, risk, and fraud tools. Institutions using Visa's settlement, treasury, and currency solutions gain direct interoperability to integrate stablecoins into their workflows.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
