U.S. Bank and Fiserv Partner on Digital Credit Card Solution
On June 13, 2025, U.S. Bank and Fiserv announced a strategic BaaS-style sponsor bank partnership for a digital credit card solution. The collaboration integrates U.S.
Bank's Elan Financial Services credit card program into Fiserv's Credit Choice platform, bringing together credit and debit card capabilities under a single digital experience. The solution is designed for over 100 U.S.-based banks and credit unions that are Fiserv clients, enabling them to offer enhanced digital card services to their customers. Fiserv's head of card services highlighted benefits including improved digital integration, self-service customer journeys, and increased cardholder loyalty.
The rollout is expected to begin in summer 2025 with full portfolio conversion targeted by the end of the year. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed. The deal positions U.S.
Bank as a sponsor bank powering credit card programs at scale through Fiserv's distribution network, representing a significant expansion of BaaS-style arrangements in the card issuing space.
- Strengthens the sponsor bank model in credit card issuing, enabling smaller FIs to offer competitive digital card experiences
- Positions Fiserv as a consolidated platform for both credit and debit card programs, intensifying competition with other BaaS card platforms
