Open Banking Platform Tink Raises $99.7M to Expand Across Europe

Tink, a leading open banking platform in Europe, announced the close of a $99.7 million funding round in May 2020. The investment was led by Dawn Capital and HMI Capital, with continued backing from existing investors including Heartcore Capital and ABN AMRO Ventures. Tink's platform provides connectivity to banks and financial institutions, enabling fintechs and enterprises to build embedded finance products through access to financial data and payment initiation services.

The funds are earmarked for geographic expansion across Europe, deepening its open banking infrastructure reach. ABN AMRO Ventures' participation as an existing investor highlights the bank-fintech partnership model central to BaaS and open banking ecosystems. The round positions Tink as one of the better-capitalized open banking platforms in Europe at a time of accelerating regulatory support for open banking via PSD2.
