Securian Financial Launches FlexTech Embedded Insurance Platform

Securian Financial launched FlexTech on March 25, 2026, a new embedded insurance platform designed to allow non-insurance companies to integrate protection products directly into their applications and customer journeys. FlexTech targets the embedded finance market by offering API-driven insurance capabilities that can be seamlessly added to existing digital platforms. While the product focuses on insurance and protection rather than core banking, cards, or payments, it represents an extension of the embedded finance model into adjacent financial services.

The platform leverages Securian's established insurance underwriting and product expertise, combined with modern API infrastructure for distribution partners. FlexTech joins a growing ecosystem of over 137 embedded finance platforms tracked in the market. The launch aligns with projections that global embedded finance transactions will surpass $7 trillion by late 2026, as more financial product categories become embeddable.

Securian's entry signals increased competition from traditional financial institutions building BaaS-style distribution for their core products.
