Prometeo Raises $13M Series A to Expand Open Banking Across Latin America

Prometeo announced on January 9, 2024, that it had raised $13 million in Series A funding to expand its open banking infrastructure across Latin America. The round was led by Antler Elevate, with notable participation from PayPal Ventures, Samsung Next, DN Capital, Cometa, and Magma Partners. Prometeo provides a single unified API that enables multi-banking data aggregation, account validation, and payment initiation across 283 financial institutions in 10 Latin American countries.

The funding will be used to broaden its product suite and deepen its geographic coverage in the region. The participation of PayPal Ventures and Samsung Next signals strong strategic interest from major global technology and payments players in Latin American open banking infrastructure. Prometeo's platform addresses a critical need in a region where banking fragmentation and limited interoperability have historically hindered fintech innovation.

The raise positions Prometeo as a leading BaaS-adjacent infrastructure provider in LATAM, enabling fintechs and enterprises to embed banking connectivity into their products.
