PointsKash Acquires ChainBytes Software Assets to Boost Embedded Payments Platform

PointsKash announced on Jul 14, 2026, that it completed the acquisition of ChainBytes' proprietary software assets in an all-stock transaction that closed on Jul 10, 2026. ChainBytes founder and lead software developer Eric Grill joined PointsKash as part of the deal, working alongside lead programming architect Peter Keating. The company described the transaction as an "acqui-hire," combining software assets with engineering talent.

PointsKash expects to begin integrating elements of the ChainBytes platform into its broader ecosystem in 2027. Planned integration areas include its cryptocurrency platform, KashPoint self-service financial centers, and PK Pay digital banking platform. Financial terms beyond the all-stock structure were not disclosed.

CEO Michael Herron said the deal was primarily about acquiring engineering talent rather than software alone.
