NymCard, a UAE-based Banking-as-a-Service provider, launched its fully public Open API platform on February 23, 2021, designed to accelerate fintech growth across the MENA region. The platform provides APIs for payment card processing and issuing, enabling fintechs, banks, and businesses to embed card programs into their products without building proprietary infrastructure. By making APIs publicly accessible, NymCard lowered barriers to entry for developers and companies seeking to launch card products in the region.

The move positions NymCard as a key BaaS infrastructure layer in MENA, where demand for digital payment solutions is rising rapidly. The public API approach mirrors strategies of Western BaaS providers like Marqeta and Galileo, adapting the model for MENA regulatory and market requirements. Financial terms were not disclosed.
