Netbank Launches as Licensed BaaS Platform in Southeast Asia

Netbank launched as a regulated BaaS platform in the Philippines, operating under a rural banking license to provide embedded financial services across Southeast Asia. The platform was designed to offer an API suite covering accounts, payments, loans, and cards, enabling third parties to embed banking products into their own applications. By leveraging a direct banking license rather than partnering with a separate sponsor bank, Netbank pursued a differentiated model in the BaaS space.

The launch targeted the underbanked Southeast Asian market where embedded finance adoption was nascent.
