National Bank of Oman and Ooredoo Fintech Partner on Digital Wallet Ecosystem
On March 31, 2026, National Bank of Oman (NBO) and Ooredoo Fintech signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a strategic partnership in digital financial services and payment solutions. The MoU covers digital wallet ecosystem development, payment services and settlement arrangements, banking and financial infrastructure support, and joint digital financial services initiatives. NBO brings its banking infrastructure and financial expertise, while Ooredoo Fintech contributes its technology and digital payments capabilities.
Mohammed Yahya Al Jabri, Assistant General Manager and Head of Global Transaction Banking at NBO, stated the partnership reflects the bank's commitment to advancing innovation in Oman's financial services sector. The agreement supports Oman Vision 2040 by fostering digital transformation and innovation in the country's financial sector. Specific terms and detailed initiatives will be defined in separate agreements between the two parties.
