National Bank of Cambodia and GFTN Sign MoU to Advance Fintech Ecosystem

The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and the Global Financial Technology Network (GFTN) signed a memorandum of understanding on Jun 27, 2026, in Phnom Penh to promote fintech innovation and strengthen Cambodia's digital finance ecosystem. Sopnendu Mohanty, co-founder and chief executive of GFTN, signed for his organization. NBC Governor Chea Serey and Deputy Governor Rath Sovannorak witnessed the ceremony.

The MoU establishes a cooperation framework covering knowledge sharing, capacity building, and collaboration among financial institutions and technology providers. Representatives from the Association of Banks in Cambodia, the Cambodia Microfinance Association, and international card schemes attended. The agreement supports the Royal Government's broader push to use digital technology for financial inclusion and efficiency in financial services.
