Monext Acquires French Payments Firm Alcinéo to Control Value Chain
Monext acquired Alcinéo, a French payments technology company specializing in certified embedded payment software for point-of-sale systems. The deal gives Monext end-to-end control of the payments value chain, from acceptance to processing. It falls under the Faire 2030 plan of parent group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, which aims to accelerate B2B offerings across its subsidiaries and partners.
Alcinéo's technology turns smartphones, tablets, and other NFC-compatible devices into contactless payment terminals, a capability known as SoftPoS. The global Tap to Pay market is growing at roughly 25% per year. Monext plans to use its network of payment industry clients to deploy Alcinéo's solutions internationally.
Alcinéo's open acceptance engine supports Android, iOS, Linux, and Windows.
