SaaS Banking Platform Mambu Raises €30M in Series C
Mambu, a cloud-native SaaS banking platform, closed a €30 million Series C funding round on February 18, 2019. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Acton Capital and CommerzVentures (the venture capital arm of Commerzbank). Mambu provides a composable banking engine that enables banks, fintechs, and non-financial companies to rapidly build and launch lending, deposit, and other financial products.
The platform operates as core infrastructure in the BaaS ecosystem, allowing clients to avoid legacy core banking systems. The investment was earmarked to accelerate Mambu's global expansion and product development. With backing from both a top-tier Silicon Valley VC and a bank-affiliated venture fund, the round underscored growing investor confidence in cloud banking infrastructure as a foundational BaaS layer.
- Bessemer's entry into cloud banking infrastructure validates the SaaS core banking model as essential BaaS plumbing
- Growing demand for composable banking engines accelerates the shift from legacy core systems to API-first BaaS architectures
