Huawei Cloud and Thndr Sign MoU to Advance AI-Powered Fintech in Egypt
Huawei Cloud and Thndr, an Egyptian digital investment platform, signed a memorandum of understanding on Jun 16, 2026, at the Huawei Cloud Fintech Summit 2026 in Cairo. The MoU covers expanded collaboration on cloud computing and artificial intelligence applications in the financial sector. Under the agreement, the two companies will explore initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and deliver more secure financial services.
Thndr co-founder and CEO Ahmad Hammouda said the company is seeking to expand access to investment services across Egypt and the wider region through technology-driven solutions. Huawei Cloud launched its Egypt cloud region in 2024, establishing what it describes as the country's first large-scale public cloud region. The company's infrastructure supports data sovereignty requirements by enabling financial institutions to process and store data within Egypt.
