Discover and JAGGAER Launch B2B Virtual Card Payments Solution

Discover Financial Services and JAGGAER announced a partnership on October 1, 2019 to integrate Discover's virtual card number technology into JAGGAER's procure-to-pay platform. The embedded B2B payments solution allows JAGGAER's network of over 2,000 enterprise customers and 4 million suppliers across 70 countries to process payments via virtual cards directly within the procurement workflow. Discover contributes its card network and virtual card issuance capabilities, while JAGGAER provides the procurement platform and supplier network.

The integration streamlines accounts payable processes by embedding payment functionality at the point of purchase order approval. The rollout was planned to begin in early 2020. This partnership represents an example of embedded finance in the B2B procurement space, enabling card-based payments to replace traditional invoicing and check-based workflows at enterprise scale.
