Mastercard and CIB Partner to Drive Fintech Innovation in Egypt
Mastercard and Commercial International Bank (CIB) renewed their partnership on May 20, 2026, to expand digital payments and financial access in Egypt. Under the deal, Mastercard will support CIB across core digital payment capabilities and card issuance for both consumer and business customers. CIB is Egypt's largest private-sector bank.
Mastercard will bring its global network, technology platform, and advisory expertise to strengthen CIB's payment offerings. Islam Zekry, CIB's Group Chief Finance and Operations Officer, said the collaboration reflects the bank's commitment to expanding credit access and advancing digital innovation. Adam Jones, Mastercard's EVP and Division President for West Arabia, cited the partnership as a step toward building a more inclusive payment ecosystem in Egypt.
