Banco Masventas Partners with Bitex for Bitcoin Cross-Border Payments

Banco Masventas, an Argentine bank, entered into a partnership with fintech firm Bitex to offer Bitcoin-based international money transfers to its customers. The collaboration allowed the bank's clients to send cross-border payments using Bitcoin's blockchain infrastructure rather than the traditional SWIFT network. Bitex provided the underlying crypto-payment technology while Banco Masventas offered the banking relationship and regulatory framework.

This made Banco Masventas the first domestic Argentine bank to adopt Bitcoin for cross-border transfers. The partnership aimed to significantly reduce the cost and time associated with international remittances. The move represented a notable example of a traditional bank leveraging fintech infrastructure in a white-label arrangement to deliver innovative services under its own brand.
