Absa Group Partners with EasyEquities to Embed Banking in Fintech Apps
Absa Group and EasyEquities announced a partnership on Aug 6, 2026, to give Absa's more than 12 million clients direct access to investing through the Absa app. EasyEquities is a South African digital investment platform operated by Purple Group. The two companies said their client bases already overlap: roughly 125,000 EasyEquities users are linked to Absa through bank accounts or payment details, about 30,000 Absa shareholders use EasyEquities, and nearly 20,000 EasyEquities investors hold Absa products.
For EasyEquities, the deal extends a pattern of integrating its platform into banking apps, following similar arrangements with other banks. Absa described the partnership as part of its focus on digital ecosystem partnerships and accessible financial services. Full product details and the client experience will be shared ahead of a planned go-live in Sep 2026.
